Remote connection blocked by ICGina.dll

S

steve

I have several computers running Win XP on a home
newtwork and on one of them I get the msg "You cannot
initiate a remote desktop connection because the Windows
Logon Software on the remote computer has been replaced
by incompatible software ICGina.dll" when I try to
connect to it using Remote Desktop Connection.

It been suggested its caused by a virus, but I cant find
any information on the web about "ICGina".

Does anyone who what might be happening and what I might
try - short of reinstalling either the Remote Desktop or
the whole OS.

Thanks for the help

Can't find it either, do you have any non-MS authentication package
installed? you can use explorer to find out company that this dll come
from, just look at properties of this dll and then contact them directly see
if they have a version that works with XP.

To use gina that ship by MS, change
1.. Locate the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\TEST\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\WinLogon

2.. Double-click the GinaDLL value, replace the Awgina.dll text with
Msgina.dll, and then click OK.
and make sure there a msgina.dll in your system32 directory, also, you might
want to check with your system administrator first before you do so.
