Remote Assistance

This is my first time here. I have 2 laptops (Windows Home XP) in the same
room (not networked) I want to learn how to use Remote Assistance. When I
click on the request for remote assistance (from either laptop) I get the
message "Your current system settings prevent you from, etc." What settings
are being referred to and how do I go about installing the proper ones?

products to work.
