Remote assistance won't connect - HELP!

Hello. I'm running XP Pro with SP2 and I am attempting to connect to my
mothers computer running XP Home SP2. I don't want to take control, I just
want to view her desktop. She can send me a request and I am able to accept
it and the window pops up telling me that the connection is being attempted,
but they won't connect. When I send the request and she accepts, she does
not get that window poping up telling her that the connection is being
attempted. Both of our firewalls are turned off and we both are on high
speed. I have had her check her settings under 'Remote' in the 'System
Properties' and she only has the option to 'Allow Remote Assistance to be
sent from this computer' but she does not have the option 'Allow users to
conect remotly to this computer'. I have connecter to other ppl's computers
by this method both running XP Pro and it has worked in both directions. Is
there another setting I am over looking? Or maybe because she is on XP Home
and I am on XP Pro that this connection won't be allowed? Please help.

Many Broadband modems have Router capability built-in. You
may have a case where the Router is blocking Port #3389 which
Remote Assistance uses. Sometimes it's necessary to add a setting
to allow Persistent Port Forwarding on that port.
Also, for Remote assistance to work the ticket must be the actual
IP address for the WAN (Wide Area Network, i.e. Internet). If you
open the ticket with notepad, check the IP Address listed. If it is a
LAN (Local Area Network -inside the Router Range) like 192.x.x.x
then you'll need to have her use http://WhatIsMyIP.Com to get her
WAN address, then you'll need to edit the ticket to reflect that.
Best to do a quick Ping on the ticket address to make sure it is
accessible.
Remote assistance depends on Terminal Services, so if that service
is not running RA will not work.
There are other factors that can also affect it, but having Home or
Professional shouldn't be one of them.
