Remote Assistance question

I have a desktop computer running XP Home SP2. I have a relative
(computer illiterate) who got a new computer also running XP Home SP2. Both
of us use a DSL broadband connection. I'm itching to try out the Remote
Assistance program so I can take a look at his machine and see if it's set
up properly.

Got a question, though. Do you have to use Windows Messenger in order
for Remote Assistance to work? Never one of us has ever used this program
or set it up.

Just run the Remote Assistance dialogue and select "Save invitation as
file." After you've created the file, open your email client and attach
the remote assistance file, which should be in My Documents (check to
see where the dialogue saves it when you create it). Both of you stay

I finally used the Remote Assistance program. It was convenient, quick
and fun. Much easier than trying to explain something via email and phone,
especially when the person you are helping is computer illiterate.
