Hi all

I am unable to use Remote Assistance Invitation.
When I select the "Save Invitation" button I get
the following popup message:
"A program could not start. Please try again."

I have included all components about Remote Assistance.
Like these.

a. Remote Assistance Automation Framework
b. Remote Assistance Channel
c. TCP/IP Networking with File Sharing and Client For MS Networks
d. Terminal Services Remote Assistance Component
etc..

And click auto-reslove dependencies.

Is the bug for XP Embedded?
It's very urgent, please help.
Thanks. T_T

I don't know what you mean by 'save invitiation'. Are you sending a request
using MSN Messenger or through the Help Center Wizard? I know this RA
feature works, we were just testing this on SP2 the other week as part of
some SMS integration testing.

The XPe-SP2 machine was able to send and receive invitations, both from
Messenger and through other clients like SMS Agent.

Perhaps you are blocking this through firewall. Try turning off firewall
service or opening the right ports.

Hi Andy

Thanks for your reply.
I send a request through the Help Center Wizard.
And I use "Save invitation as a file(Advanced)".
But when I want to save invitation(Click "Save Invitation" button),
I always get the following popup message:
"A program could not start. Please try again."

Even if i want to receive invitation from other machine ( Xp Pro ), it
still can't.

Note : There is no firewall.

Thanks.

I had a similar problem. When ever I'd try to start remote assistance I'd
get the "A program could not start. Please try again. I can't remember
exactly, but there is a service for remote assistance that I had to stop and
restart. That seemed to resolve it for awhile until I install a MS patch
that broke it for me.

The fix for that one was http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909889
