Remote assistance and Messenger

I am trying to use the remote assistance feature. I have not had an
luck connecting via email invite because we are both behind firewalls.
I would like to try sending the invite through Messenger but the invit
window says "Windows Messenger is not installed". I clicked where i
says "download" and installed messenger. I know have messenger bu
remote assistance still says it is not installed. How do I get remot
assistance to see that messenger is instaled
