Remote Access Connection Manager

Hi,
I log on to my XP Pro machine as Administrator and when I try to create a
dial up connection it says that access is denied to Remote Access Connection
Manager.

I get Error 711 when I try to create a dialup account.

Can anybody help please?

How big is SP1? Can I d/l it from Microsoft?

I had same problem but cured it by re installing SP1 service pack. All then ok

Hi Greg

The CD is about 280Mb. I am certain that you can download it but of course it will take ages if you are on normal dial up. Look in the OS section of software on e bay. I mine there very cheaply. Depending where you live MS will send it to you.

Can I add a question to this

I've had the same problem (the 711 error). But I also can't get a dial-up connection created because it basically says this remote access connection manager has to be started. Of course I can't start the connection manager. Basically without the dial-up connection I can't get the service packs downloaded. Any suggestions about how to get the dial-up connection? That option in the Connection Wizard is grayed out
