Reloaded OS, still can't open IE

(Fun Web Products) I received 'Page Cannot be Displayed' error. After
cleaning all the spyware, ran WINSOCK Fix, disabling the HOSTS files, the
problem persisted. So, I reloaded Windows 2000 with SP4, and yet, the problem
persists! I then uninstalled/reinstalled TCP/IP and then flushed DNS but
can't get to it work. It's running on IE5 with 128-bit (unable to upgrade to
IE6 since cannot access the internet).
I have no problem accessing the network drives so the NIC is working, and
all other LAN users have no problem surfing the web.
Internet connection is broadband T1.

I'm lost, please help.

Thanks very much.

Hi OL User,
"Fun Web Products" Hu? Not much fun now (sic). They include installers in
the Windows Startup, so you have probably been re-infected since rebooting.
This google search will give you a listing of sites where you can get help

PS. Read the license agreement before installing "free" software and be
particuarly aware of "packaged" or "bundled" software.

Regards.

Thanks for you reply. I finally replaced the NIC and it's working now. Not
sure why the old NIC could let me access the network drives but not the IE
though. Anyway, thanks for your input.
