Rejoin Computer to domain

I recently had to rebuild a single DC. Everything appears to be up but I
have a snag. I need to get the computers back under a trust relationship
(event id: 5513). I know I can do the change to workgroup->reboot->re join
domain, however this will cause a new profile. I have attempted using the
netdom.exe tool and resetting the computer but I keep recv:

netdom reset [computername] /domain:[domainname]

"The secure channel from [computername] to [domainname] was not reset.
Access is denied."

Is their another way around this?

not that i am aware of. I had to go to all on my workstations and remove
from the domain and then rejoin. Log into the workstation with the username
that has been on there and then log off. Now you copy the profile that they
had in the past to the new folder that was created when you logged the new
user on.

You cannot "reset" unless it is the SAME domain.

If you re-installed (rather than restored) the DC/Domain
then you have LOST that domain (even if it has the same
name.)

Unless you have another DC or a Sysem State backup for
a DC in that domain you have no recourse except to rebuild
the domain.

This works of course but now means I have a 15-20 minute tast that requires
I touch every computer. And you know you cant just fix what you need and
leave.... The users take this time to inform you of every little nick,
cranny, and how to they been wanting to know about for the last year.

40 hrs per day
150 pc's
estimated time per pc 30 minutes
estimate project time 45 hrs

Wow looks like I'll have fun this month.
