RegSeeker observation...

In using RegSeeker and deleting various registry entries found to be
unnecessary, my system speeds up noticably but only while still in winXP.
Once I reboot all deleted files are back in the registry. Is this a normal
function winXP performs ?

Do you think RegSeeker knows which registry settings are OK to be removed?
If so what do you base that on? Customer testimonials or someone at
Regseeker said it did? Let me suggest that all your registry entries should
be left alone except for those that may be put there by spyware. And in
that case you would ask someone who knows these things if you could remove
anything. Yes it is normal for Windows XP to replace registry entries it
knows it needs and can replace. Microsoft warns you that some entries
cannot be replaced in this manner and you stand a very good chance of
crippling your OS if it is done.

I too observed this & more disturbing attributes of Reg
Cleaners which led me to question their efficacy.

I still have Reg Seeker but use it to list all Startup
entries ONLY since I can easily spot malware replacing
deleted entries in RUN keys.

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

Hello, Please clearify type of files being deleted. I use the application and
when registry entries are deleted they have not return. Using RegSeeker v1.35
beta, Build 1203.
Please be careful you do not want to remove registry entries that are needed
to run WindowsXP.
I stay with third party items, dead links etc. I add and remove programs on
a daily basis plus some video and photo editing, all leave many registry
entries that are not valid.
Registry cleaners are not safe and have been known to remove entries that
cause system failures.
Never removed unknown entries.
Take Care.
