Recovering calendar items

How do I recover archived items. I have tried looking through the file it
told me to, but nothing was there. I need those items!! I already turned
off the autoarchive. I just need to recover them (they were not deleted)

If they were archived, then they are in the archive folder that AutoArchive
has been set to or the specific folder defined for the Calendar;
Right click the Calendar-> Properties-> tab AutoArchive

The last one will overrule the generic AutoArchive settings.

After determining the archive file, you can connect to it in Outlook via;
File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

I have done that, but the file that the autoarchive sends it to doesn't show
anything in it.

Makes sense as you said that AutoArchive was already turned off.
Outlook doesn't delete them on its own. Do you perhaps sync with a mobile
device? Some have a cleanup function to save space on the mobile device. If
that deleted the items from the mobile device, then they are also removed
from Outlook the next time you sync the mobile device.
