Recovering 2007 data files

Hi,

I recently installed Vista overtop of my Windows XP installation (just to
check it out), and now all of my old files and settings are in the
Windows.old folder (I think).

Is there any way that I can recover my Outlook data files now? It looks like
I am going to have to reinstall Office on my Vista installation, but I would
really like to get my emails and calendar details from my old installation.

Please tell me this is possible...
(Yes, I realize that it was shortsighted to install Vista without backing up
my data files first).

pray and make a thorough search for any .PST and .OST files on your hard drive.
originally they should have been in your profile: c:\documents and
settings\USERNAME\application data\microsoft\outlook and c:\documents and
settings\USERNAME\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook
Since vista doesn't use "documents and settings" anymore, i don't know
wether these folders are converted, backed up or lost (didn't get to play
around with vista yet...)

I found the files in the folders that you mentioned. Vista makes a backup of
"Documents and Settings" in the Windows.old folder that it creates.

Thank you very much for your help.
