recover files from deleted volume?

Greetings,

I need a program that will recover some files on a deleted volume of a hard
drive (experimenting with linux and it trashed my embr partition).

Anyone know of such a program? Went to the Priceless website and couldn't
find anything.

I'm running windows xp home but will use something from a boot floppy/cd if
that will work.

Do not use the PC more than absolutely nescessary
so that deleted files are not overwritten

Restoration
Restore files which are deleted from the recycle bin by mistake.

Re the Drive Rescue qualification "NTFS(incomplete)", can you clarify what
exactly is incomplete about recovery from NTFS?

Sorry, no. I'm still running the last version of Windows I ever
will... 98SE. I have no NTFS experience. The file is a setup.exe with
no documentation, other than the brief bit on the page above.

The program did go shareware unfortunately, and this is the last
freeware version, so this one might not be for you.

Does anyone know of a similar program (recover drive or files) for
NTFS?
