Record favourite music for own entertainment

Dear friends

I am a music lover & occasionally record favourite music onto
cassette.

I tried recording streaming favourite music from internet onto my PC
using freecorder & saved onto window media player in MP3 format.

When the music was playing live it was of excellent quality through my
digital speakers. But when I played the recorded music it back, it was
of quite poor quality, with lot of echo & tremblimng voices.

I know that by law you are not allowed to record / download music from
net, but what about if I pay and download music. Can I not have
excellent quality recorded music downloaded.

Do I need to use any other different type of software? Do I need to
save it in different format? Do I need to save it in realplayer & how
can I do that?

Your suggestions are most appreciated.
Thanks,
RAS

It depends on what you've purchased. You'll have to read the fine print on
the site in question. You may only have purchased the right to listen - not
to download. If that's the case, the site may have installed copy protection
to prevent downloading of the music.
