You may have a corrupt database. I would try a compact and repair of both
databases.

Below are some more sources on Access database corruption.

Tony Toews has an excellent web page on database corruption.

Allen Brown also has excellent info on corruption.

I have a white paper in a Word document named Fix Corrupt Access Database.

Is this the first time this has happened? In how long? Do you have
backups?

Jerry pointed out the use of the Compact & Repair feature. Be sure to do a
backup before using it.

Is there a chance that this database is split, and installed on a network
(either LAN or WAN)? These might be a factor in causing corruption...
