receiving e-mail

I can sent e-mail but it won't receive them. It says Account: 'home mail',
Server: 'pop.east.cox.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR An
authentication mechanism MUST be entered', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes,
Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

help!

I don't think Cox supports advanced port settings or SSL.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Advanced,
then uncheck the SSL option., and change port 995 to port 110.
