hello I received an c:\windows\system32\wvUmmMca.dll error message and i dont
know how to get rid of it.
Also im unable to connect to the internet i have no options to view any type
of connection my network is missing. Can someone please help

infection. If none of the above remove the infection, you may want to
show the computer to a professional. You might need to erase your hard

specialist help if you want to remove it.

What anti-virus and anti-spyware programmes are already installed? Have
you tried booting to safe mode and running scans?

Have you run Disk CleanUp or cCleaner ( if you have it?)?

What is your computer make and model?

What do you have by way of a Windows XP CD?

Do you have important data files on the computer? Have you backed them
up?

An alternative to trying to remove the malware is to reformat the hard
drive and do a new clean install. This is why I have included the
questions in the preceding three paragraphs. Check whether you have CD
for drivers, programmes etc if you think you would find it easier to
take this route. Preparation and planning is the key to a successful
reinstallation of Windows XP.

Reboot your computer, and go into "Safe Mode with Networking".
Once there, you should be able to accesss the Net.
If you can, download, install, update and scan with the 2 programs below, as
well as your Anti-Virus.
Scan with Malwarebytes 1st.
All info below re getting into SM with Networking.

Download, install, update, and immunize your System with it.
Then SCAN with it.
Update it, and scan your System once a fortnight.

For the Free version scroll down their page to either download from

Download, install, and update.

Important re: Safe Mode
If you happen to find a problem that you can’t uninstall / delete, reboot
the computer, and go into Safe Mode.
To get into Safe mode, tap F8 right at Power On / Startup, and use UP arrow
key to get to Safe Mode from list of options, then hit ENTER.
RESCAN your computer with your Anti-Virus, Malwarebytes and Spybot S & D
while in Safe Mode.

If unable to install above Programs in Normal Mode:
Sometimes Trojans, Viruses, Malware, etc stop you installing and/or updating
Programs to remove them.
If that happens, reboot into Safe Mode with Networking(from list of F8
options), and install, update and scan from there.

Hi,
Firs, try to remove the entry from starting up by doing this:

Click Start >> Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs look for a third-party
toolbar or a non system programs. if you are not sure leave this step and
move to the next one:

Click Start >> Click Run command and type in:
regedit click [OK] and locate this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run = look in
the right pane/window and remove the entry for it
"C:\Windows\System32\wvUmmMca.dll"

and also this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run = look in
the right pane/window and remove the entry for it
"C:\Windows\System32\wvUmmMca.dll"


Then Run disk clean up by right click on the C:\ drive and select properties
and under General Tab click on Disk Clean up and make sure to check all
check boxes then click [OK] torun the clean up tool.

Then open the Run command and type these commands to connect and download
the tools below:
Run >> Type in:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /renew click [oK]
netsh winsock reset click [Ok]
Reboot your machine and try to connect, does it help?

If you can't try to download the software from the machine you sent the
message from on a removable Storgae and install it then run a COMPLETE scan.

Go through these Cleaning steps:
1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Tabs:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.

Use a working online PC to download the correct files to create bootable
rescue CDs. Try these sources:
