Reboot

I have two machines. The one machine i wanted to rebuild
has a CD Rom Drive which does not work so i had trouble
booting from CD. i took my hard disk out of that machine
and took it to my other machine with the working CD ROM. i
put that hard drive in, rebuilt my machine with no
problems. i installed all my software and rebooted it a
few times to check there were no problems. i took the hard
disk back up stairs and put it back in my other PC. i
started it up, it gets to the starting windows 2000 screen
and just reboots itself continuously.
i have tried to start in safe mode etc but it still wont
work. i then tried to repair using the setup disk. didnt
change a thing.

Any help greatly appreciated

The usual procedure is to move the CD ROM around, not the hard disk.
You want to be able to install your OS on the least changing hardware
platform. The way you did it, you installed it on the most changing h/w,
as you effectively changed the entire PC!

Good luck!
