Reboot problems

Hello,

My mother in law has a HP Pavilion 730N and is having problems
rebooting. She is getting the following message when she starts her
computer.

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected
boot device and press any key"

What does this mean? How can I help her boot up?

Hopefully it means she has a disk in the drive - be it a CD that isn't an OS
CD but thinks it is bootable or a floppy in the drive that is stopping it.
Hopefully.

What is a OS CD? Is this the cd that comes with the computer?

Yes, that would be one example, an OS CD is a CD with an operating system on
it. It may be any one of a number of CDs - ask her to take all disks out of
the computer. (No, not dig inside, the floppy, CDs, DVDs, etc - including
any flash based media or external disks using USB drives if applicable.)
