Reassign keyboard buttons?

Hi:
I have Windows XP, SR-2, with a Belkin ergonomic natural keyboard (it uses
MS software & drivers). I would like to switch the functions of Windows key
with the Alt key on the left side, & also switch the Alt key with the
context menu key on the right side. Is this possible? (either directly or
by getting a utility).

I don't know of any specific utility, but you can do it manually.

http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/input/w2kscan-map.mspx

http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/input/Scancode.mspx

As an example, here's a registry file that maps Caps-lock to left shift.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout]
"Scancode Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,2a,00,3a,00,00,00,00,00

Hi Bill:
Thanks for the response and the links. I took a look at them, but honestly, I can't
figure them out. I can't figure which values to change to what to switch functions.
I think I'm going to have to find a utility & I may have found one at PC Magazine.

Thanks again,

You're welcome. Let me know if it works or not. If not, I'd be willing to help you write
out the mapping values.
