"Reapply Layout" changes slide animation

R

Ron

I am using PowerPoint 2002 on Windows XP.
When I reapply the layout to a slide, the text animation changes from what I
had (With Previous) to "After Previous". I have no text animation
commands on the Master. If it is a complex animation (e.g.. Float), it
changes it to "Appear.
This happens on both my XP computers.

If this is an normal condition, is there a way to avoid changing the
animation. I sometimes need to reapply the layout due PowerPoint occasional
layout offsets.

Thanks!

Ron

An updated observation: This effect doesn't seem to happen when I change
layouts, or change back again. Very strange!

Hello Ron - I couldn't duplicate your problem
here. Running Win XP, Office XP (PPT 2002).
I opened a new presentation, added two
text objects, made object A start On Click,
and object B start With Previous.
Then, when I reapply any new slide layout
using the task pane, the layout changes,
but the animations don't.

I wonder - are you trying to animate text boxes,
or placeholder text?
