Realone messed up my internet and I can't use System restore either

After installing CloneCD and RealOne Player I was suddenly
no longer able to surf the net. I couldn't receive any
data after connecting to my 56k ISP whether using internet
explorer or Getright to resume downloads.

I was able to use sytem restore to sort out the problem.
I tried installing the RealOne again as I really needed
it. Big mistake!

The same thing happened again. However, this time sytem
restore wouldn't restore back to any of my restore points
and it wouldn't even undo my last restore.

I removed RealOne. I also uninstalled and reinstalled my
modem and ISP. Still no success. I'm running Win XP Pro
on a high spec PC (P4 2.4, 512 DDR, 120GB etc.). I have no
viruses as Norton is always uptodate with the latest
definitions. What
shall I do?

EDIT:
I used SpyBot to get rid of any spyware and I even tried
another ISP but I'm still having the same problem. The
modem's working fine as I have tested it using Diagnostics
in Modem Properties. When I connect to my ISP and try to
visit a site in Internet Explorer I get the standard
error 'The Page cannot be displayed'.

When I open the connection status from the bottom right
hand corner of the screen it shows that data is being sent
(quite slowly) but data received just remains the same at
some stupidly low value like 200 bytes. The modem
obviously isn't receiving any data even though I'm
connected to my ISP.

It's not an ISP problem as I've tried two ISP's. The
problem started after installing RealOne. I've uninstalled
that and have searched my system clean with Adaware,
Spybot and Norton but for some reason System Restore has
decided not to work either. What shall I do?
