Help! My real-time protection says in-active. When I try
to activate it, it won't let me.
What to do?
Thanks

I have the same problem. I recently obtained Spyware
received from a link disguised as sent my someone on my
Buddy List. Now my Real-Time protection will not work.
I have tried all the solutions people have suggested on
my board. I have attempted to repair and
uninstall/reinstall MSAS numerous times. I used
CCCleaner, MSAS, McAfee Virusscan, to try to see if a
virus is stopping me from using real-time protection. I
can't figure this out!

Try these two solutions:

1) do an update install--control panel, add or remove
programs, Microsoft
Antispyware, change, update.

Then, try these steps:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> type in ->
command)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without
the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpyware

You can go ahead and do both of these--neither has any
downside risk--and see if that does the job. Let us know
whether it does, or not!

Sometimes, you have to try 2 o 3 times with MSAS, in
order to stick the selection, try.

I tried 3 times but am still not able to activate the
real-time protection. I've had this program for at least a
year and have never had a problem like this before. I have
it on my other computer and there are no problems with it.
I also tried to un-install it and re-install it, but still
the same problem.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Jenn
