Real-time Protection icon disappears

Hi, sometimes the icon disappears from the tray. Supposedly, Real-time
Protection is still running because the task manager shows gcasDTServ.exe
and gcasServ.exe (Engel, thread "Multiple MSAS icons in system tray",
2005-09-17).

I open the programme and it says Real Time protection is Active.

On the task bar I select "Show always", but it's still missing.

The question is: is the programme running or not?

Go by the list of processes in task manager. This is a bug in Windows XP,
rather than Microsoft Antispyware, as far as I can tell. If, for example,
you do a log off and log on again, the icon should reappear.

I believe that if the task manager shows those processes, real-time
protection is still in effect.
This is another issue I don't expect to be with us after beta2 is released.

I think that works if the problem is the XP bug. There may well be a bug in
Microsoft Antispyware as well--there's definitely and issue where if you
want the icon not to appear, it does.

No guarantees about the icon with beta--either way!
