ReadProcessMemory/WriteProcessMemory messages

I am having difficulty in installing some games. Autorun does not work - I
get the flash, but when I hit the install button nothing happens. I try
using Run and setup.exe, but I then get a message 'only part of a
ReadProcessMemory or a WriteProcessMemory request was completed'. What on
earth does this mean? And more importantly, how do I fix it?

This may help your situation,

You receive an I/O device error message when you try to use your CD drive in
Windows XP

I tried your advice, but it didn't work. Still only get the same message.
Is it time I took the puter out back and put it out of it's misery?

It is /probably/ the CD drive failing, do you have a spare CD drive
available? Could be the IDE controller that is attached to the CD drive is
failing. I would suggest replacing the CD drive with a different CD drive
and see if this error message disappears. If not, I would /guess/ the IDE
controller is failing.

I don't have a spare CD, but I'm sure it's a lot cheaper than a whole new
system lol! Thanks for your help, this has been driving me mad and nobody
seems to know what it means.
I just restarted my computer and received the message 'error loading
C:\ProgramFiles\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll'. I completely forgot
that this happens, but could this be related to the problem i'm experiencing?

No this would not be related, WildTangent is considered spyware. Are you
familiar with the registry? If you are, then go to these two locations:

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
and
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]

See if there is a WildTangent startup entry. Simply delete this entry.
