Reactivating User Account.

I created different user name for a special project. I even logged into
it separately. The user account is listed in the user files. All the
files remain and I can access them but I can't seem to log in under
that name. I tried to create a new user using the same name but I get a
message saying use a different name.

How can I log in under that name again?

Why can you not log in under that name?
What is the message you get?
Can you change the password for that account? (are you logged in as an
administrator) (If that account has any EFS encrypted files stored under its
credentials - don't change its password!)
If you can get to the files and copy them - why do you need to log in as
that account? heh

The other name doesn't come up at the log in screen, My name comes up
because I an using some programs that are activated at a certain time
of day and I have to have a pass word for that. The other user name
used to come up before I had to rebuild my machine. It still is in the
user name file. I even changed the password for that user name but it
still doesn't come up on the log in screen.

Actually I wanted to go back and use the New York Times forum. I was
signed up before but I hadn't used it in awhile so they wanted to sign
up again. The problem is they sent an email to an old email address
that hadn't been active in 10 years. Now I am stuck because the Times
never thought there might ever a mistaken email address. So when I try
to resister again the screen pops and says error go and get the email
we sent. No web site does this except the stupid New York Times.

I want to sign up for the forums under another name, Then I can talk to
them about fixing the bug in their sign in procedure.

I have another reason I get mail under this other user name and
roboform helps me log in.

If you go to Start>Control Panel>User Accounts does your second account show
up? If not, it is not thought of as a User Account by Windows. If it is,
see if you can fix your problem from there.

To register with another name with the NY Times, try clearing your cookies
so that they do not remember who you were before. Any programs under the
second user name should be available on the admin account, or, if not, you
can dig around in C:\Program Files\ or C:\Documents and Settings\%the other
account name%\Application Data. You may have to view hidden files in order
to see these.

Good luck and ihth.

Yup there is is Ho Masubi along with a friend's name who helps me with
computers and the perenable New User but only my name shows up on the
log in screen.

The thing is it would be much easyer to answer Ho Masubi's mail under
his name rather then mine. Sure I can go to the web sites and I have
the pass word but the web mail sites will be hard to fine with Hos my
favioites list loaaded. .
