Herb, thanks, but I don't have a ReviewRevisions command
on my Tools menu; only TrackChanges. that opens the
Reviewing toolbar, not a dialog box.
I'm probably not understanding your message.
Thanks, again.

For #1, use the ToolsReviewRevisions command. You can use Tools - Customize
to assign it to a menu, toolbar, key, etc.

For #2, when you use the ToolsReviewRevisions command, it leaves Show
Formatting alone.
My Original Message:

Word 2002:

1. I thought there was a dialog box I could use forusing the reviewing toolbar; I can't find it. How do I
access it?

2. When I am using the reviewing toolbar arrow (for
next tracked change), it is turning on the Show Formatting
button. That makes more clutter in the on-screen
document already cluttered with tracking marks. How
do I
avoid that?
Thanks,

I thought Herb's answer was pretty clear. He's suggesting that you add the
ToolsReviewRevisions command to a toolbar, and he says that you do this
through Tools | Customize (you'll find the command under All Commands on the
Commands tab). If you need further help, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/AsgnCmdOrMacroToToolbar.htm

Thanks for response. It's not clear to me. The
procedure in the reference you gave gets me an icon on my
toolbar. But I already have that icon in the
Reviewing toolbar.
What I was looking for was the track chages dialog box,
which I can't find. The difference between using the
icons on the toolbar, and the dialog box, is that with
the dialog box, when you accept a tracked chage, it
automatically moved the cursor to the next tracked
change. With the icons, you have to go back to click the
right arrow to move the cursor and then click the
checkmark to accept, then go back to click the right
arrow, etc.
It's possible there's another way to accept a change and
have the cursor automatically move to the next change; I
don't know it.
Thanks, again.

My understanding was that that toolbar button opened the old dialog. Try
looking for other likely candidates that do--maybe ToolsRevisions?

This could have changed in later versions, but in Word 2000 it's called
"Accept or Reject Changes...".
