Re-install XP problem

I'm trying to re-install/correct a problem. I get to the CD and run it. It
wants me to hit F8 to accept user agreement. I do but nothing happens. Is
there another way to accept the agreement outside of F8 or am I doing
something wrong?

think you need to hit f8 unless you have one of those
fancy xp install cd's that have the licence file and all
that loaded on it.

first question does the keyboard work fine?? ie the f8 key
do you have a usb keyboard??
if so you may need to enable usb in the bios so it picks
it up in this process?

Some keyboards have an F-Lock key.
Make sure that is not enabled.
You should also try a different keyboard.
If the keyboard you are using is USB connected try a PS/2
one.
Or check to be sure USB support is enabled in BIOS.

Hi,

You aren't doing anything wrong. I've had this problem
before, but found that you need to hook up a different
keyboard. Make sure the keyboard you are using is simple
and doesn't need drivers to work. Make sure it is a PS/2
ported keyboard ( NOT USB PORTED KEYBOARD). It should
work with a different keyboard.

Good Luck!!!

I have also had this happen. Use a directly ported keyboard.

On another note, some drivers query devices and do not find USB mice and USB
keyboards and abort.....sigh.

Are you mean when you press on F8 key then the screen is hanging there?
If yes. Then it should not be the keyboard error. Need to check on the Hard
Disk.
