Re-format my hard drive

Mary

I'm trying to reformat my hard drive. I went into the
Win XP disk manager but it won't let me format the
system/boot drive. I can't find information on creating
a startup disk so I can do an fdisk. I want to wipe the
hard drive clean and start new. It was so easy with
Win'98. Can someone help?

Thanks,
Mary

Hiya Mary,

WinXP will not allow you to format the system drive.
I guess you are wanting to re-install WinXP? hence the
reason for reformating. If this is the case then this is
what you will want to do,

Boot up your PC with the WinXP installtion CD.
Once the CD has booted, proceed to the Installation menu.

There will then be an option to install and reformat the
drive...

Hope this helps
