RC2 Download disappeared?

I was downloading RC2 from
http://download.windowsvista.com/preview/rc2/en/download.htm (which, over my
ISDN line, is kinda time-and-bandwidth consuming). At 99%, the download
manager ended with a "fatal error" message. I went to go back and restart it
and that address now goes directly to the Windows Vista home page. Has RC2
been pulled? Will I be at some point able to finish this download, or did I
miss some undefined window of opportunity?

Same problem here. I tried downloading it 6 days ago, and when it gets to 99%
it comes with a "Network error, cannot download. The Download Manager cannot
make a network connection. Check connections, and try again. Would you like
to retry now?" error message.

I retried like crazy, but finally thought the file may have corrupted and
started to download it from scratch to a new location. Same problem. After
99% it fails.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ole

They seem to have pulled RC2 sometime yesterday. While I was at work the link
was active, but once I got home the link redirected back to the main Vista
site. I was hoping to see it RC2 would actually install on my machine as RC1
does nothing but give me the old "black screen of nothingness".

Make sure you aren't using Firefox to download, since the only time that
happened to me was trying to use Firefox with Akamai. I was not at the
time, using the Firefox beta 2, so it may help. Possibly it has something
to do with the security or sandboxing Jane C talks about and how Firefox
handles that.

But, it doesn't appear you can download it any longer, so keep you fingers
crossed that MS updates RC1 on the public site to RC2!!

I tried it as well last night and it failed. This morning I am able to see
the download manager and browser download links page but they redirect me
back to the Vista home page.

I tried to download last night and was directed to the Vista Home page. This
morning I was able to reach the page with the download manager and browser
download link but I am being redirected to the Vista Home Page

Thanks. I guess I'll just keep checking here and the news to see if MS has
any comment on whether this was intentional (like in response to some major
issues) or what. Since it's redirecting to the Vista home page, my guess is
that they aren't putting it back up. So I've got 99% of the download, but
that's about as useful as 0%. So it goes...

Yes, unfortunately.

Seems you missed... like many others...

The fact this download was wide open to anyone who wanted it with no apparent
control by Microsoft meant there was always going to be lots of disappointed
people already involved in the CPP. A search for RC2 on google returns a vast
number of hits for download. It hardly encourages anyone to follow on to the
full version of the OS.

If I'm not mistaken, RC2 was open for a limited # of dls. Apparently that
limit was hit. If you didn't get it, you're out of luck. Sorry.
