RC2 Beta Released to Public

It is build 2149.
Also please do not link to he internal; download ID as this may change .
The correct location for information is
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/sp2preview.mspx
and download is accomplished depending on which method you prefer as
detailed on that page.

i downloaded sp2 rc2 in only 39 hours ... i want dsl ...

i loaded it with some misgivings ...

i created a restore point in the event something did not work ...

that seems like a joke now ...

i found the following problems :

windows media player :

windows media player is not ready for beta test

windows media player trips over find cd info ..

first the cd stopped

then computer locked up

windows media player will not stop ...

does that mean the stop button is broken ??

i tried it again to document my steps

same results but this time wmp showed a big (BIG) black screen in full mode
....

skin mode seems to be ok ...yea sp 2 rc2 development team ...

outlook express :

outlook express is broken

new desktop icon ... big deal ...

update msn does not work

installation wizard

install added features

warning : do not try this at home

computer froze ... nice new feature microsoft ...

installation wizard is not responding ...

do tell ...

task manager froze ... another nice feature ...

paint works ... right ???

wrong ... paint froze

another new feature ??

installation wizard froze ... microsoft is on a roll or a croisant ...

sledge hammer time ...

power off

power on

computer on

checking file system

butterfly

forget updating msn ...

why not roll the msn updates into the big... fat ... program

open outlook express

authenticating ... sure ...

i get msn error 31

try msn again ...

outlook express splash screen

select microsoft windows media beta ...

sounds like a good newsgroup

message will not open ... oh, no !!

go to this newsgroup

click on message

dialog box

'your server has not responded in 60 seconds...

and it may never respond ...'

outlook express is broke

but boy, what a nice desktop icon ...

start - programs - accessopries - system tools - system restore ...

restore computer to an earlier time ...

i am glad system restore worked ...

computer was restored without sp2 rc2

thank god for that ...

i will not reinstall sp2 rc2

you can do better

and, i almost forgot

file a bug report

.... cannot find server ...

i guess doesn't want bug reports ...

this service pack reminds me of the la lakers

.... not ready for prime time in detroit ...

when will the final relase be out?
Yes 2147 is the one that is available. There is not a date set yet(was
supposed to be the end of this month)

The technical preview is 2147? Are you sure it isn't 2149? RC2 should
read as 2149.
