when ever I am trying to play this game multi player and
there is suposed to be a resolution change, my monotor
switches it sounds like but then it just goes back to the
screen that I was just on and freezes up my computer so I
have to hit the restart botton.

So I decided to cheak my system compatibility and found
an error that says:

Windows has detected that one or more protected core
system files (kernel) on your computer have been
modified. The Service Pack contains updated versions of
those files, which work to provide a stable environment
for your programs. Due to this modification, the Service
Pack will not be installed. For more information, see
Knowledge Base article Q327516 at
http://support.microsoft.com.

But when I go look for that ID they dont have it in there
system. I have also tryed reinstaling the game, directx,
and my graphic card driver. any one know what I am
suposed to do then?

Hi Shinma,

Something must have modified some of your system files.

The usual culprits are customizations and tweaks done using
Tweak XP, Styles XP, ThemesXP, Logon XP, Boot XP, etc.

Uninstall such software to restore your Windows files. If this
isn't possible, or if it doesn't resolve the error, then either:

a)
Try Win XP's System Restore to return your system to a previously stable date:

or b)
Unplug from your Internet connection, and then repair Windows:

Afterwards, boot up your system, turn on your XP Internet Firewall,
plug back into your Internet connection and install all Critical and

Hey thanks for the help to fix my computer. Using your
first option only made it worse so then I did the second
one and it fixed the problem.
