"quotation mark" issue in XP

I just upgraded my computer to XP Home and I'm suddenly
having an issue with the apostrophe/quotation mark ('/")
key. When I hit the key, no character appears until I hit
the spacebar or another key. But if the next key happens
to be a vowel, then I suddenly get that vowel with an
accent mark over it.

For example, pressing: " (then) A
....gives me: Ä

Or, pressing: ' (then) o
....gives me: ó

I'm using a Microsoft Natural Elite keyboard. I've looked
for a device driver at Microsoft.com but this is the one
keyboard they make that isn't supported by Intellitype.

Is there a driver out there that can stop this problem
from happening? Or is there some setting I should be
aware of? Please help.

Under "Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages ->
Details", what keyboard layout are you using? See
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=306560. Maybe you are using the US
Intl keyboard layout that lets you add accented characters. Could be
you have more than one keyboard layout installed and accidentally
switched between them.
