Quicktime locks up computer

I just built a new computer and installed a fresh copy of Windows XP PRO. I
have all of the latest drivers and updates, no device conflicts and seem to
have no registry errors. All other programs work fine, but when opening
Apple's Quicktime, the entire system locks up. Everything that uses a
Quicktime plug-in of some kind or other works fine, as does iTunes, they all
work perfectly. I have tries using Apple's web site and found numerous
entries on this subject, but they don't seem to have a fix or work around.

Any ideas?

Contact Apple.

If your only problem is with their software - the logical thing would be to
contact them for assistance. ;-)

As I said in my post, although I didn't specifically specify it, I did
contact apple. They do not have a solution or work around. They won't even
try to answer, just continually point to their knowlege base, which is
useless.

Uninstal/disable plugins one at a time and see what happens .
