Questions about Administrator

WinXPH SP1

I noticed in CP > Users that although there are users that have
administrator privileges, there is no user named "Administrator" like is
found in WinNT4's User Manager utility.

1) Can a user create the username "Administrator" if he logs on as a user
with administrative privileges?

However, I see in C:\Documents and Settings that there are 4 folders named
as follows:

Administrator
Administrator.ZYQUIP3
Administrator.ZYQUIP3.000
Administrator.ZYQUIP3.001

These folders are inaccessable, and cannot be deleted by any user with
administrative privileges.

Note that this computer was named ZYQUIP3 in a workgroup.

2) Is the first folder in the above list a standard one found in all virgin
WinXPH installations? Can any/all of the above folders be deleted somehow,
perhaps via editing of the registry?

The admin account in xp is hidden and not to be used on a daily basis. It
does not show in control panel/users cause it a safety account and no one
but the actual admin in his account can mess with it, thus it doesn't show.
You can't create a user called administrator cause there is already one. In
explorer the folder should be:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator

Those other folder are usally a result of an improper install or improper
repair install.

To log into the hidden administrator account:
in xp home - boot to safe mode and log in
in xp pro - hit ctrl-alt-del twice on the welcome screen, then log in as
administrator

Tweakui for xp will also display the hidden admin account on the welcome
screen if you want.

Greetings --

Whenever WinXP is installed on a computer, two user accounts are
automatically created: Administrator and Guest. By default, the Guest
account is disabled, and isn't pertinent now, in any case. During the
installation, WinXP Pro will ask the installer to designate the
Administrator's password, but WinXP Home will not do so. By default,
the Administrator's password is blank.

Once any additional user accounts have been created, the
Administrator account will no longer be displayed on the Welcome
Screen. This is a default security feature. By design, the only way
to log into the Administrator account of WinXP Home is to reboot into
Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro, pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice at the Welcome
Screen will produce the standard login dialog box.

There is such an account, but it is kept hidden (even in User accounts)
against emergencies - normally use a user account with Admin status. To
get the reserve Administrator one, boot to Safe mode and an icon will be
on Welcome.
