A friend wishes to know where he would get a version of Quattro Pro that
will work with XP. He has been using an old version with Windows 98 but
has had XP installed. He is in the UK and would like to know which
version he should use.

The current version is 12. That definitely works with Windows XP,
as does version 11. I can't remember which earlier versions work
with XP, but I think 10 does, and probably 9 also. Earlier
versions, I'm less sure about.

What version does he have? Has he tried to use it with XP? It may
well work.

If the information above doesn't help you, and nobody else here
can provide information about his specific version, try the
appropriate newsgroup on Corel's server, cnews.corel.com.

I have used both versions 9 and 10 with XP (but recommend going with the
newest version if he is going to purchase one). Version 8 does not work
with XP; I found that out the hard way when I tried to install my sister's
WP Office diskon her new computer.

Corel WP Suite 8 works fine here on XP. No problems with WP or Quattro Pro.

That's interesting. WP8 would not even install on my sister's computer (and
I have installed various versionsof WP on many computers, going clear back
to the DOS days of WP4.0). Maybe there was something about her
configuration that caused a conflict, but each attempt to install would
create an error message. I don't remember the exact words, but it was to
the effect that WP could not be used on that version of Windows.

Could have been a build number difference. I haven't used Corel products
for a while but do recall there being several builds of version 8.
