PW2004 iso link on PW Site?

I was wondering if anyone thinks we should put a link to the torrent
file for the Pricelessware CD ISO on the page dedicated to the CD
(http://pricelessware.org/2004/CD2004PL.htm).

A _copy_ of the torrent file currently resides on my server but can
easily be copied to any server and the download will work the same. I
don't think uploading the torrent to Pricelessware's server or another
server would be a problem either because the torrent itself is only 20.6kb.

The only copy of the torrent that can be linked so far (unless someone
has uploaded a copy to their server) is the copy at
http://www.freesoftwarereviews.com/pw2004.iso.torrent

Any thoughts on creating a link?

I've removed the ISO info from the CD page - I'm not fond of trying to
answer unanswerable questions - and the links button had gotten several
such. Steven is still waiting for information - ATM there is no way to
predict when or if that link will be back up.

The torrent file and the "mirror" site were *created* informally - I
think they should continue that way. I don't feel comfortable about
having informal links on a PL page - and I don't know enough about
torrent files to do a write-up or field questions.

A high speed connection facilitates distribution of the CD to *some*
people - it's a nice extra but not essential. *Everyone* can *request* a CD.

I didn't think about the problems that might result from a link like
this. I understand your concern with a link that might not be reliable.
I may create a general torrent FAQ for the torrent and post it under
the thread concerning it to help answer common torrent questions.

2 ideas that may eventually work well:
1. If someone had a reliable web server that supports PHP the PHP
tracker I use could very easily be set up (if they have a MySQL
database). This method would be very reliable and I think, once an FAQ
is written, might be a much better method for linking than my current
tracker.
2. Someone with a VERY reliable web server and massive amounts of
bandwidth could host the ISO file itself and allow downloads.
