Puzzling forum behavior

I'm still using IE6.0. A new "issue of sorts" has cropped up on several web
sites I use for forums. I don't remember this happening before.
On the forums there is naturally a "notify me when I receive an answer"
check box. I select this on two different forums. Problem is I never
actually get the notifications. I can go back at will to the sites and see
an answering post, but no notification has been sent to me.
Could this possibly be an update security change that I've downloaded and
installed from WU perhaps, or has anyone else had this behavior.
I know some sites require a cookie access change in privacy settings but I
don't think this is the issue here.
Thanks much

Make sure the notifications aren't being filtered to your Junk Mail folder
or dumped entirely by an anti-spam application, Dudley.

As far as I know Bear, everything is just "stock" on my system. I don't have
any third party software except my CA AntiVirus. The one thing I did do that
just might be related to this was to download IE7 and then uninstall it
after trying it out. I'm back to 6.0 now and as far as I know the uninstall
went ok, but I've been hearing a few things about 7 leaving things that
might affect 6.0.

Installing/uninstalling IE7 would have nothing to do with this. Perhaps
your ISP is using some anti-spam filtering? Also see if disabling CA's
email scanning (incoming & outgoing) makes any difference.

I'll give that a shot Bear; thanks.

Sorry for the obvious question, but does the forum have your correct email
address?

Actually Bear, I hate to admit it, but that just might be the case. I
recently switched from Earthlink to RCN broadband and never even gave it a
thought until now :))
I'll find out how to change the email address and do that. That HAS to be
it!.
As you said....Doh!!!! :))

Frank; That's not only the obvious solution, it"s THE solution :)) I
changed ISP's recently and just never gave it a thought.
Thanks :))
