Purge Former User Folder(s)

I had to reinstall XP. However, many of those original default user folders
are still there (C:\Documents and Settings\username...) and I want to use
them instead of the new ones that have been created. As the answerer to thsi
inquiry will know, when Windows creates a folder for a new user who has the
same username as a former user, it makes a fodler in the former
(username.computer name).

This problem has come up for both general users and administrators. I want
the new folders removed and the old ones put back. How do I proceed.

If I need to use RegEdit or another advanced method, I am prepares to do so!

Did you plan on doing an actual clean installation?
(Because you have not done so yet.)

When you reinstalled Windows why did you not save whatever files you wanted
and then wipe the hard drive clean (format)? This would have been the best
method, nothing would have been left behind.
