Public Folder, Contacts Question

I have an issue in which a (former) user used a customer form to create
contacts in a public (contact) folder. The form in question is no longer
relevant and the folder owner has asked me to convert all of the contacts
back to the default contact form. I've tried a number of different solutions
none of which worked.

Is there an easy way to batch convert all of the user contacts to the
default Outlook form without creating a new folder ad importing the contacts
over to it.
