Publishing with Frontpage FTP

(I have a Norwegian FrontPage2003SP2, so I may use wrong words when I
refer to the menu.)
I want my local files published on a Unix server with Apache webserver
without FP extension, and have done so for some years with an older FP.

Now I have a new PC, and have to reinstall things. After File/Open Site
(?) I can see my files in the left window. To tell where to publish, I
choose FTP, and give the external website ftp://www.hist.no/mymap
Then mymap is created in my home map. This is not where I want it to be.
It seems impossible to give an absolute path from the root of the
machine? And if I give the relative path from my home map
(ftp://www.hist.no/../../../../www/mymap - where I have all rights) I
only get a message "invalid parameter".

Can someone help?

Your web host must map your login to the actual folder that you have to upload to via FTP when using
FP's FTP mode.

I could make a symlink from the actual map to my home map, and let FTP
put the files in my home map. This is not a good solution. And the
previous version (of FrontPage) on my previous machine, was able to
publish straight into the right map. I am sorry I can't make this happen
again...
(Sorry also for bad English.)

I can see now that I have used the word 'map' when I meant 'folder'..
