Publishing Printers in AD

I have had the request to start publishing printer in AD.
We had resisted this so far because our naming convention
is so detailed and we saw it as unneeded clutter in AD.Has
anyone built a container just for printers or is there a
best practice for this. I manage roughly 1500 printers on
4 print servers.

If threes printer servers are pre-windows2000 then you should create printer
containers. On Windows2000 and later operative systems the printer object
will atomically be created in Active Directory as a child object for the
particular printer server and be available for search.
