Published printer does not show in AD

I'm having this weird problem where my published printers do no longer show
up in AD. True, I have been moving some functions from a DC to another, and
the printers are on that DC.

So far I have tried republishing the printer with setprinter \\server 7
dwAction="Publish" , but to no avail.

When I go to Users& Computers and set it to containerview, no printers show
when I select the DC that the printers are on, only 'NTFRS Subscriptions' and
'RID Set'.

Something is wrong, something is broken most likely, but I can find what it
is.

Anyone got a good idea?

An update and some clarification of this problem:

The server that is no longer publishing the printer was the GCS. We moved
the GCS functionality to another server and printers are no longer published
from the former GCS that still acts as a DC and as the printserver

Creating the printer on a member server instead of a DC and publishing the
printer in AD does work, however.

Creating the printer on the DC that is now the GCS and publishing the
printer in AD also does work.

It seems to me there is a problem with publishing resources (or at least
printers) on DCs that where formerly a GCS.

Can anyone confirm this (preferrably from Microsoft ) and/or have a
solution to this?
