pst file not found

I saved and copied all of my pst info from my old computer as
"Outlook.pst" and "archive.pst" on the desktop of my new computer.

I successfully Imported these two files into Outlook 2002 of my new
computer. I then deleted the two files from my desktop.

My entire pst info is correct on the new computer.

However, when I start Outlook, I get an error message,
"...\desktop\outlook.pst not found" and a dialog box asking me to
"create/open personal folders file". How do I clear these actions?

Assuming that you are using, and want to use, the default location and
filename for the pst file it appears the program is trying to access both
the default file and the PST file on the desktop.

Go to control panel \ Mail and find the dialog box that lists the PST files
in use. Delete the desktop file. You should also be able to do this from
Outlook. If Outlook is accessing multiple pst files you will see multiple
"Personal Folders".

Outlook can access multiple pst files concurrently.

Thanks; it worked. For others interested, the headings are "File"
"Data File Management" on the top toolbar

Never import from or export to a PST. There's no need and you run into
issues such as you describe.
