pst conversion ... 97/2002 to 2007

I asked something similar in another thread but was getting off that topic's
original question so I reposted here.

The situation is this - I bought Office 2007 last year and imported the pst
file from my Outlook 2000. (OK< I now know I shouldn't have done that, but
the option was there and I did it.) So, my present outlook.pst file
contains Contacts, etc. from the Office 2000 flavor and, of course, the
newly created 2007 Contacts, etc. flavor.

I have since learned that there are several kinds of pst files. How do I go
about converting my outlook.pst (Personal Folder file 97-2002) to the new
and improved Office Outlook Personal Folder File 2007. Thanks, DH

If you imported into Outlook 2007 then the pst should already be the new
Unicode format....

OK. When I look at Data File Management, I am told my pst file is the
97-2002 type. Since I bought Office 2007 a year ago, it is possible I
simply copied my older outlook.pst file to the new location. I don't
remember.

At any rate, from where I stand now, can I convert my 97-2002 pst file to
the 2007 type? If I create a new pst 2007 file, I am told:

..... Not compatible with Outlook 97,98, 2000 and 2002.

Thanks, DH

Create a new pst, by default it will be later, unicode version, then copy
data from old to this new pst.
Set this pst as the default store, close the old pst

DL, that sounds like a good idea except I can not copy entire folders such
as Calendar or Contacts. It would seem I would have to copy each individual
item within each folder under Personal Folders. This would take a
considerable amount of time.

Is there a utility that can be recommended to do this task for me? Thanks,
DH

In all folders, CTRL-A will select all items. Then Edit>Copy (or Move) to
Folder works fine. The Calendar will need to be in a table view like By
Category before CTRL-A will work.

If you want to buy something, sure. See this:
