PST ARCHIVED FILES

R

Roger

I cannot open a PST files were my Emails are archived.

I have followed the procedure:
1.FILE
2.OPEN
3.ARCHIVE
4. selected the PST fle I wopuld like to open

THe only result I get is that a ARCHIVED FILE is open under the PERSONAL
FOLDER area and in that ARCHIVED FILE... a list of all the FOLER I archvided
is showing up, but they are empty.

And yes the PST file as data: it actually contains 1.71 MB of EMails.

It is very annoying that a MS product, so basic as OUTLOOK to manage EMails,
Calendar, Task and etc... does not appear to work properly after some time of
use.

In addition, it is making things worst that there does not appear to be
knwledgeable help from MS documented in any form of shape. I have searched
the NET and seen many other comments in regards with difficulties opening up
PST files.

It indicates tome that the ARCHIVING feature of MS OUTLOOK is inadequately
documented and supported.

What a pity for such an organization as MS.

Even though I am fan a MS and haveused 100 % all it suites of products,
somewhat it does justify its competitors...and reminf me that on should
always take a walk around the market to find out better performing products
and services...

IBM learned this in the 80 & 90's, hopefully MS will learn it in the 2000's.

And it is not the first time I post that question into the MS COMMUNITY,
still waiting for a reply that will solve this matter.

What version of Outlook? Neither Outlook 2003 nor Outlook 2007 have an
option of File-Open-Archive.......where are you seeing this function?

MS OUTLOK 2003

Soory for the rough translation my system is in Spanish and it shows:

ARCHIVO
ABRIR
ARCHIVOS DE DATOS DE OUTLOOK

Which is :

FILE
OPEN
OUTLOOK DATA FILE

But it may be FILE MANAGEMENT, OPEN, OUTLOOK DATA FILE.

Hope this helps.

Try copying one of the files to your internal HDD, check that the Read-Only
attribute is not set, and then try opening it.
