.pst and special folders

S

Shorty

I created a .pst folder because I access my email through
a remote server. After creating the .pst it appeared in
the folder list with only one folder: Deleted Items. How
do I get the other special folders to appear? Such as
Calendar, Inbox, sent mail etc.

Also, once that is figured out, how can I make a rule to
have all mail received in my server mailbox automatically
forwarded to my new inbox in the .pst.

Thanks for any help!

What version of Outlook? You need to set that PST file as your default
message delivery location.

I made the change so that I now have all the folders. I
did this by forwardign all POP mail to that inbox.I then
made a rule to forward all mail in inbox to the .pst inbox
but it is not working. I ran the rule and restarted
outlook but it does not work still. any ideas as to how to
make it automatically move the mail form the server inbox
to my .pst inbox? Thanks!

Select Tools | Services | Delivery and set the delivery location to that PST
file. Any account you have set up in that profile will deliver messages
automatically to wherever the delivery location is set.

I have tried to do this but found that I do not have the
services option under the tools menu. This seems to be
where I am having problems. Any ideas as how to do it
without this option?

Ah - then you're in Internet Mail Only Mode.

In this mode, you set your delivery location this way:

If it's not already shown, display the Folder List by selecting Folder List
from the View menu.

Right click the top-level folder in the desired PST file (probably labeled,
"Personal Folders") and select Properties.

Check the box labeled, "Deliver POP mail to this personal folders file."
