How to: Create new data file with usual folders ?

D

Dougbert

How do I get a new data file with all the "usual" Outlook folders? Or, what
process creates all those folders with their special settings?

More Info

I want to implement the suggestion received in this newsgroup to
troubleshoot old messages that can't be archived or deleted by creating a
new .PST file, then moving or copying to the new file everything from my old
..PST file except the undeletable, unmovable problem messages. However I got
stumped as soon as I created a New Outlook Data File...it didn't have any
folders other than Deleted Items. I know that most of the Outlook folders
are treated specially in one way or another -- everything from Inbox to
Drafts to Calendar -- and I assumed that copying all my old calendar entries
into a new, blank, generic folder does not automatically make it a Calendar
folder? So, how do I get a new data file with all those folder, please?
Thanks,

-Doug

Your Outlook version was omitted. If you want answers, never omit that
information.
Set your new folder as the default in File > Data File management.
Restart Outlook.
Instructions may not apply to your version. I had to make my best guess.

Outlook 2003. Sorry for the omission. Thanks,
