A bit late asking for an electrician if you have taken the fuse out already ... Is it dead ?? if so, get a new one.

Take it with you to Maplin

i dont know if its dead
how would i know that?

i need an online electrician to tell me more about this fuse and wat it is
its slightly smaller than a normal fuse and slightly lesss wider too!

the plug one seems fine because i took out a working fuse and put it in
still no joy!!

i mean wear and tear is normal
i got a big collection of music im always listening to music
not that loud tho, still a bit shocked abt whats happened.

just looked on maplins website
coulndt find this particular fuse
prehaps paying them a visit would be better suited for me

Is it a glass-type fuse ?

Oh, just take it Maplin or any good electrical store and ask them to test it for you ... or buy a tester.

dear o dear

just got back

i showed maplins the fuse and he checked on his computer
he brang out this pack of 10 they were same size and SHORT BLOW
the one i got is SLOW BLOW ne1 know if this is the same?

so he opens up the fuse packet and damn they were GLASS FUSES
mine isnt a glass one

so he could only suggest a QUICK BLOW FUSE
so he went to look for them they didnt have ne of them in stock
so ima have to go back another time

so while im here

should i risk putting in a QUICK blow rather than a SLOW blow?

I dont think I wanta do this cuz it might blow my speakers up!

where are your electricians?
im so upset witout my sound!
im digging up all my cds:(

All it will do is exactly as it says blow quicker. HOWEVER as it is a glass fuse and not a ceramic one if it blow badly it could shatter so stand back ;)

As long as its the same type ie 5amps you should be fine as long as your speakers arent turned up full :)

somehow i think its too dodgy to put a glass one in there
it is the same 2amp one tho thats for sure

infact at this stage i dont even knw if it is the fuse
i still aint got a bloody tester :(

i hope im making sense this is a fuse IN THE SUBWOOFER
its not on the plug its actually inside me 188W subwoofer!

I dont listen to music v v v loud v often its norm pretty low

Did you not get your fuse tested while you were there ... ????????????

Get a 9v battery, test the battery by sticking both terminals on your tung ... remember that feeling ... now get a bit of wire, stick the fuse on one terminal of the battery and the wire on the other end ... now do the tung-test. Nice simple tester that.

Oh, I have the patient for this, so don't even think of ripping my idea off and selling it as your own, OK. :D

What? you never stuck your tung on one of them little 9v batteries? You dunna know what your missing.

You could always use a diode, but I can't remember what in-line resistor you need to use ... tung's more fun. ;)
