proxy enable disable button DialUp (NOT LAN!)

I am searching for a IE6 proxy button or toolbar with a checkbox that would
allow me to enable/disable the local proxy I use. There are many such
extensions out there, but they either don't work or enable/disable the proxy
in the Lan settings of Internet explorer, which is useless for me, since I
don't connect to the internet through Lan, but through Lan. Tested at least
20 IE extensions and tools out there, they just don't work for me.

Also found the registry key that defines the proxy settings for Dialup
users. I can change them using a reg file, but problem is, the currently
loaded instances of IE don't notice that the registry has changed, I'd have
to restart all IE instances; and I don't want to.

There must be at least one working IE extension out there for this purpose!
any ideas?

I don't think you can do what you want to do on-the-fly without closing out
of IE, as it reads this info from the registry.
